We love the name Zadie for a girl (like Zadie Smith!) but I can tell my mom doesn’t love it because she used to call her grandpa “Zaydee” (which is Yiddish for grandpa). What do we think? Kinda cute? Or are we basically calling our daughter Grampy or Nana?

Very nice!

I like it

I really really like it

Cute!!!

I know someone called Sadie "Saydee", very unique and lovely!

I like it

I'm going to be so for real rn... I read it as "Zaddy" like someone saying "yasss zaddy" so for me, It would be a no... but everyone is different!

I like it, I dont think many will read it as Zaddy as if you think of similar names and words we pronounce similar, Zaydee will be the way majority of people will say it.
My daughter is called Mina, someone said before she was born what if people called her Mine-ah instead of Mee-na, ive never had her called Mine-ah once. Call you baby the name you love. People have opinions until the baby is here and it's officially their name, noone dares say things then x

😂😂 that’s hilarious! Didn’t think about that. Something to consider…

thanks for this! Totally agree. Everyone has opinions until it’s officially the baby’s name and then everyone loves it. Or at least, has no other choice but to love it. Mina is cute! Would never think it’s Mine-ah, unless it was spelled Myna. “Mila” is on our list, too! Also pronounced “Mee-la.”
