Am I right in thinking I shouldn’t give baby Paracetamol/Calpol for the first time at night incase of allergic reaction?

Our little one is teething badly but should we try and make it through the night before we give it? Our other natural remedies aren’t cutting it this time :(

If baby is in pain, I would definitely give them calpol. How old is baby? Sometimes other things can be mistaken for teething like learning to roll over, having a growth spurt, etc... does feeding baby calm them and for how long? Do they show any discomfort during the day? Are they rubbing/grabbing their ears?... try and get through the night and then get a doctors appointment just to have a wee check to put your mind at ease

thanks. He is 10 and a half months. He isn’t being consoled by feeds like usual. It only works for a few mins then he gets upset again. He is grabbing his ears a lot. We had him checked a few days ago as he had a fever and she said she didn’t see any signs of ear infection etc. He didn’t really show any signs of discomfort during the day but he was particularly clingy

now morning is here, I’ve tried him with a little bit of calpol to see how he gets on and can monitor if he has a reaction so that we are ready for tonight!

Ah, all the extra info helps. If you had him checked and doctor was happy that everything is okay, then definitely get some teething bits like bonjela- teething one is from 6 months old, teething powder, some teething toys. At almost 11 months, as he probably is on solids, you can put fruit in the fridge and let him munch on that. Give calpol before bed if needed.
