Leaving my 2 year old 5 days

So my husband's friend organized a trip to go out of state for 5 days. My MIL offered herself to take care of the little one so we could go. I know they are great with my baby, he's a really independent baby so he will be fine, but I don't want to leave him. I have never been far from him, not even for 1 night. If I go out with my husband we usually stay that night at my parents in law house so we can take the little one in the morning. And I'm freaking out. 5 days is a lot for me and I don't know if it will be a lot for him. Also, my parents and law and I are really close but they haven't take him overnight ever. My husband said that it will be a great time and that everything will be fine but that doesn't help me at all.

If you’re not ready say no thank you and take him especially since you’ll just be thinking about him the whole time unable to enjoy yourself.

I just went overseas for 16 days for work and left my 15mo with my parents. It was definitely hard to leave him and I missed him like crazy, but we could video call and they sent heaps of photos and videos and I'm so so so so glad I did it. Also he had a blast because he adores them.

Do a trial night if you aren't sure and see how you and him do with one night.

We went away for the first time for 5 nights last week and left my 2 year old with my MIL..

I too was extremely worried when leaving of how she would be, especially because I’m the only person that can easily put her for naps or to bed etc

But she was amazing ! my daughter loved it! She faced time us everyday with no tears, grandma and grandad kept her very occupied with lots of painting, water play and park trips(when the weather was okay enough)

As a mother, it’s only natural we’re going to feel like this, even during the holiday when you see photos/FaceTime you will feel emotional, but maybe this break is what you all need… ❤️
