Eye Infection

My 6 month old woke up today with what looks like the beginnings of an eye infection. I took him to the chemist and she told me a doctor would need to prescribe the antibiotic eyedrops to him because he’s under the age of 2.

I’m going to call the doctor first thing Monday morning but does anyone have any tips for what I can do to help him in the meantime? It seems to be really bothering him :(

Warm rag on his eye for as long as he’ll let you every couple of hours

thank you I’ll give it a go! He doesn’t like having his face wiped but hopefully he’ll let me do this😂

If it isn't bothering him I wouldn't want to give antibiotics. They are so overly used nowadays.
Just keep it clean with boiled, cooled water. If it doesn't show improvement then I'd look at getting antibiotics

just called and they won’t give him anything because symptoms only began today😭

I’ll keep wiping it for now, hoping it improves before Monday because nursery won’t take him with it if it’s bad x

Just bathe regularly with warm water on a cotton pad x
