Going back to work

Is it just me that is looking forward to it? I keep seeing posts about mums dreading it which makes me feel so guilty! But for all for my KIT days I’ve loved it, feel like I was getting part of me back rather than being in a full on identity crisis😂

That’s nice that you are - but I’m dreading it too 😂

I’d rather go off on holiday alone than work for someone BUT it really depends on your job fulfilment. My job is music so going on holiday like to a cabin would result in me writing music - which is my identity. That is something I crave rn and would not feel guilty about leaving my LO if I know she is happy throughout.

I feel exactly the same! I enjoy KIT by getting the social interaction and sometimes miss the Ellie before Mummy Ellie. Would never change it but seeing him get all excited when I return makes it even more worth it. I also see it as we can do nice things with our time together as we wil have abit more money too

In july my SMP ends & I was wondering how your KIT days worked? I'd like to use some during the 3 month no pay period

I get paid for them on top of my SMP - you’re allowed 10 days in total without it affecting your maternity pay/allowance I believe but double check the gov website to be sure x
