Hi all, just a question really around Blood Pressure. My anxiety has heightened since becoming pregnant and I’m wondering what is considered high blood pressure? My BP was 122/80 earlier and I’ve looked online and that’s considered high blood pressure? I thought that was in the normal category! I’m just getting anxious about it all and need some reassurance really. What is considered high during pregnancy? At my first midwife appointment it was 118/72 so it’s not changed much.

Hiya, it does seem to be normal. I think the upper should be below 120 and lower should be below 80 and yours are about that range, wouldn’t really worry about it. Maybe measure it again, they say you should do 3 times and do average if using home devices 💕💕

That is normal bp it isn't considered high until 140/90

Hi CNA here, your BP isn’t considered “ high “ until your systolic is over 140, my normal BP range is 120-124 & your diastolic isn’t over 80 so you’re good :)

I'm 36 weeks with my first. My BP has always been odd and likes to play tricks on everyone. A worrying level of BP is 140/90. If the bottom number starts getting close to the 90 (I.e. 88+) then they'll start to worry about complications like preeclampsia (that was me a few weeks back, thankfully everything has come back normal). Your BP is going to change constantly through pregnancy so I really wouldn't worry if it doesn't look like the 8 week reading

Your midwife should advise you if you have high blood pressure. Talk to them. I wouldn’t look online. Too much contradictory and scary information.

Your midwife will be monitoring this in later pregnancy. Unfortunately I got pre-eclampsia that didn't end after birth

I had preclampsia and help syndrome with my first. I’m high risk this time again. My BP has never been 120/80 pregnant, always higher.
I was told 150/100 is high, for me, and 160/100 or higher is go to the hospital. At many points with my first it was 220s/130s which is really scary.
I take labatalol and it’s the best blood pressure medicine I’ve used during pregnancy. It’s adjustable and my doctors let me self adjust at home.
I’d get a monitor for your arm not the wrist those are notoriously bad. I use an iHealth monitor. It goes to my iPhone and I share it with my doctor.
Always sit and wait relax and have calm thoughts before you take it. If you’ve been walking around wait 5 min.
