Might be a silly question but my lo has just turned 6 months and I want to start the weaning process with him but I’m not sure where to even begin?🙈 any advice on what others first did? TIA

I'm yet to start like you and my LO is approaching 6 months. As this is very new to me, I bought the book written by Charlotte Stirling- Reed 'How to Wean your Baby'
Really interesting read and has a 30 day weaning plan. It's give me more confidence on what to do/ expect and also what to cook! I defo recommend it.

It depends on what kind of weaning you were thinking of doing. There’s two types baby led: this consists of baby eating what you are and eliminating purées so baby gets the same as you just cut up in a baby safe way. It also includes self feeding . Traditional weaning involves purées and feeding baby. Make sure baby is definitely ready: sits up right, has good head control, puts food to mouth, is interested in food. Then after that I would start with single veggies each day. However, just remember that babies take a few tries to decide if they like something or not so if baby pulls a face or spits it out it’s normal. We’ve been doing traditional weaning since 4 months and wanting to go on to baby led soon :)

It really depends what method you fancy doing. We did BLW from the start and it worked wonderfully for my son, but that’s not the case for everyone.
If you want to try BLW, Weaning the BLW on Facebook is a great group — https://www.facebook.com/share/JsoBdk37jGppPzJb/?mibextid=WC7FNe
If you want to go the traditional route with purée, sign up free to Ella’s Kitchen. You get vouchers for snacks and purée and a weaning chart too!
