My baby is about to be 10 months and we have been supplementing with formula for 2 days now. I know all the rules for breast milk, but what are they for formula? Specifically Kendamil Goat. Like can I pre make them and put them in the fridge? How long do I have to use it? I know that once she starts to drink it, I have an hour for her to finish it.

My son is on Kendamil goat! You haaaavve to boil the water. I do a trick now called a “hot shot” I boil water and put a bit in to cover the formula and mix it and then put cool boiled water in the rest of the bottle so it’s the perfect temp. But you need to boil it each bottle. I’ve been doing this since he was born even through the night it just is what it is. It’s only good for 2 hours once made. All of this info is on the can :)
So if I boil water, let it cool to where it’s refrigerated, then mix it with formula and put it back in the fridge, I have 2 hours to use it? (Then I’d heat it to 158°F and let it cool when ready to drink.) Or is it 2 hours to use once heated?
Also, if using your method, is it too hot where it kill other nutrients in the formula, or is it still ok?
I did everything as it said on the can, but the water cooled past 158°F and I had to reheat it.

2 hours once heated! It’s very crucial to follow the directions or your baby could get sick. It’s not low quality fake forumla like others. But it says all this on the can o read the whole thing .

You put the formula in while it’s still boiling it doesn’t kill the nutrients it’s fine, 2 hours to use once you’ve taken it out of the fridge if that’s what you’re doing x

You can use it 2 hours out of the fridge but only for 1 hour once Baby has drank some

It actually says “ if your feed has not been used in 2 hours throw it away” right on the can. So definitely read the can or talk to Kendamil yourself they are really good at answering any questions :)

This is what it says on their website
Test temperature on your wrist before feeding. If feed has not been used within 1 hour, we recommend that you throw it away and start again. Do not add food products such as cows’ milk and do not re-heat in a microwave
If its not been used it can be kept out ready for 2 hours
If baby has drank out of it, it's 1 hour due to the bacteria risk

Yup 👍🏼
