Nursery/child minder

I only need a child mind for 1 day or even 2 mornings but most are saying a minimum of 2 days. Is this necessary? Just think its alot on my 8 month old :(

They usually say this for a couple reasons, financially they need more commitment as if your child is in say every Monday it takes the space of a child who could be in 2+ days and thus making them more money, also its likely that your little one would struggle more to settle being in so little.

Many nurseries would previously accepted 2 mornings but if you're in England the new funding coming in is putting significant pressure on nursery's financially.

You'd definitely be more likely to find a child minder than nursery placement

We have the same issue, our little one will be going two days when we really only need one at the moment. It’s annoying but I understand the reasons Kelly mentions!

I totally get the reasons I'm just worried about it being too much on little one? We're currently booked in 1 morning a week at a nursery but the introductions have been terrible and I have a really bad feeling. Whereas childminders are seeming to have a softer approach xz

If you find a childminder you like then definitely go with that , they tend to be a lot more flexible about all kinds of things and they’re usually cheaper too 😊

I don't it is a lot. Obviously it takes them some time to get used to the staff and new environment. It is normal for them to cry at drop off for the first few weeks. Mine cried when she started and everytime she moved up a room. She moved from baby to tots and then toddlers. She has been with the same nursery since 10 months. But within a few weeks, she got used to it and just loves going. Her speech and confidence have grown a lot since she went.

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?
