Getting Back into Working after being a SAHM with a Gap In Work History

I have a BS in Biology and a Cert in Phlebotomy and I’m ready to go back to work. How do you fill in the history gap from Motherhood? Help 😮‍💨

Following, BS in Bio Science as well 🙋🏼‍♀️ still have a few years as SAHM but starting to worry

Following. BS in mol and cell bio with an almost 3 year gap now. Big worried about getting another job in science.

It’s going to be probably a 6-7 year gap for me :( idk if they’ll even take me seriously unless I go back for a Masters

I took a year off after my son was born, and that is literally what I put in my resume for that time period. No shame.

Have you ever thought about picking up a few volunteer hours like on weekends or something, similar to your career field and you could utilize that on your resume.

@Courtney I haven’t but that would be a great idea. Thank you!

Being a SAHM is a full time job. Add it to your resume as such. Add a title like house manager and add all of your daily responsibilities. Use chat gpt to clean up the language.

I saw something recently that said they put a line item such as “personal time caring for family” … maybe if you Google you might come up with better language

I used chatgpt to find words (they come with definitions) to a house manager or head manager ! It’s so helpful and y’all should use it too !

@Chaquettea yes thank you for this babe !!
