So I’m 35 weeks today and I’ve got my birth plan to sort tomorrow with my widwife. I’m a FTM so I’m very nervous about what to say etc, all I know is I want this when in labour
- water birth
- gas and air
- mum and partner at the birth
Is there anything else I need to say 😂

Also a FTM and had mine on Friday. They ask other questions like who will cut to cord, vitamin k options for baby, how to deliver placenta, we also don’t know the sex so we’ve added on our plan that I want my partner to tell me the sex not the midwife. We also discussed when to have S&S, induction etc which we’ve decided to wait for 41 weeks before a S&S.
what’s badger notes?
oh that’s alright not that bad, I just didn’t know what questions they would ask

I downloaded a free template from pop that mummy (hypnobirthing) and found it very helpful: https://www.hypnobirthing-positive-birth.com/birthplanbundle

this sounds like the most beautiful birth I hope you got to experience it as you wanted it 🥰

@betterbirthuk

I would recommend delayed cord clamping too especially if you’re having a water birth :) I say in the water with my daughter wrapped for like 25 minutes after I had her, it’s meant to be amazing for baby too as all the goodness from the placenta flows back into baby :) personally too I find it helps detach the placenta and helps with ‘giving birth’ to it, I literally pushed and pushed on my belly to help it come out and all was good, I never needed the injection to help birth it…
we chose vitamin K injection after birth
We also had essential oils, music provided by ourselves, we had my daughters birth recorded on a video camera that we kept on the windowsill, (of me in the pool not an up close) 🤣
So glad we have the recording tbh because you forget the small details sometimes and i love watching it back, makes me so emotional!!
but all this was stuff for them to know :)
