Parent groups around CBD/ inner city

Hi everyone,

I was given some really good advice to look at local community centres for parent groups and I am struggling to find any around Windsor/Herston area... Does anyone know of any groups around these suburbs?

I have been looking for a while and ive not come across any they all seem to be a bit further out :/ I'm in the cbd and the closest ones I've found are all a 15-20 minute drive away

Have you tried your local child health clinic? They facilitate new parent groups - I went to Coorparoo and have been matched with a really great group of parents - our bubs are all within a month of each other

I'm not too sure what that is sorry. Is that just a drs office?

They stopped during COVID but recently restarted. Every area has one I think - well there might be one that services a number of suburbs. https://www.qld.gov.au/health/children/babies/clinics

But basically it’s a free service - you can drop in and do self weighs with bub, or see a nurse. They have lactation consultants and midwives (or at least I think they do!), they also do home visits, help with feeding, settling challenges etc - you can also go and do what they call a “day stay” so they can watch you and bub and help you better understand cues etc. A fantastic free government service
