Just wondering if anyone else has had any other similar experiences with their little one. I’ve noticed a lump on back of baby’s head, been checked out by the doctor who said it’s normal it’s swollen lymph node and can be down to infection(skin as little one has excess), teething etc and said it’s nothing to worry about

I had this but with the gland behind his ear. It was huge all of the time whether he was ill or not. I pushed to have it checked and they did an ultrasound which was all clear and they said some children just have larger glands which eventually go down. He was about 1 and it went down to normal and now only raises like normal of he's poorly xxx

Yes, noticed just before babies 8 weeks check and pushed for an ultrasound when they hadn’t gone down after a month, by the time we got seen at 16 weeks she had another prominent one. All fine and sonographer said it’s common for them to be prominent on babies and toddlers. If you Google occipital lymph nodes you can find a diagram or where all the lymph nodes are and should reassure you. My daughters have come and gone multiples times with jabs, colds etc and even when she must be fighting off a virus with no outwards symptoms x
Thank you ladies, do you reckon i should push for an ultrasound? Little ones 6 months x

My doctor said lymph nodes can stay raised for up to 6 weeks and rhat is perfectly normal, I think if they haven’t got in that time and baby is well then don’t worry and just ask to be seen again in 6 weeks. If you’re not happy just ask outright for an ultrasound that’s what I did xx
