Sterilize or toss?

Hey there, mommas! A couple my husband and I are both friends with had a baby in October. She had lots of stuff to give away and gave a lot (I mean, A LOT) of it to us. I could cry I’m so grateful! She also gave us a collection of pacifiers. They’re in an opened bag. They don’t look rough or used a lot, but who’s to say? Would it be worth to sterilize and have my baby (not due till late July) try out to see if she likes the style/brand? Or should I just toss? TIA! 🖤

In Australia it’s recommended that pacifiers be replaced every 6-8 weeks as the rubber breaks down and deteriorates. I would personally chuck them

I don’t see anything wrong with sterilizing and trying them out. We spent a ton of money trying pacis until we found the right one. If you feel like you should throw them after then sure. But using a few to see what he likes… makes sense to me… imo

Bec is right hun, it states it in the dummy/pacifier information in the packets to replace every 2 months.

Sterilize best one or 2 toss rest

I am a picky person. I would not reuse pacifiers. I feel that is something that should be new.

I’d say toss, not giving your baby a pacifier is better in the long run anyway

I would say toss. I didn't want to pass them to siblings and got new pacifiers for my second baby.

Definitely toss, they have little holes in them and even with sterilising I just don't think they're that hygienic. With all the money you've saved by receiving their baby items you can go on amazon and buy a pack of different pacifier types for your baby to try!

Thanks y’all for the input!
