Stressed Dog

Hi all! Obviously bringing home a new baby is stressful for our furry friends. My dog has started doing this trembling thing that I think is from stress and I wanted to see if anybody has any tips to help the dog navigate this new world?

Have you tried playing dog mediation music it really seems to help my guy when he is stressed.

Is your dog crate trained? You can turn his/her crate into a den by putting a blanket over it and putting a dog bed inside of it. You don't even need to close the door, just leave it open so he can go in there when he wants to decompress.

I noticed that often when we bring babies home everything changes even for our pets. They go from getting all our attention to getting told "to get off the couch, stop, get down, thats the babies, dont lick." So I still allowed my dog to get on my lap, gave many treats and cuddles. I didn't try to keep him away from the baby. I was always there, so if he wanted to sniff her, I'd let him. It was quick no harm. Then, as she got older and had tummy time on the floor, he would lay next to her. Now she is 1, and they are best buddies. We're teaching her to be gentle with him, and he enjoys being around her. They are always supervised, but they get along great. I do realize that every dog is different, and some need to have boundaries in place when around the baby, especially if they are large or very hyper. But just share the love, and eventually, he'll calm down. Some dogs just don't do well with change and need reassurance

My dog she loves this fan I got from Amazon. i have to leave it on for her to calm down so it’s noise in the background.
