Eye test

Has anyones toddler had an eye test yet? I know they don't usually until they are older but what do they do if you are concerned about sight issues I can't imagine mine having an eye test he would probably go absolutely mental... 🤔

Hello. Yes we have them every couple of months and at this age they can only test whether they see an picture at long distance. So little ones need to describe what is there. Might be asked to cover one eye each time but our little one did not collaborate in this case 😅 and they check if they follow objects /toys by both eyes equally, have a look into eye by light etc... There is not too much until they are older and happy to collaborate more and have a look into measurement machine for example. But still good to have a general check and LOs are getting used to the environment :)

Yep my son has had two and eye drops we pick his glasses up next week the first one was a nightmare he refused to sit still but the woman doing it wasn’t that great with him the second one was much better doctor was fab but he hated the drops screamed but after a mummy cuddle he forgot all about it and was fine mummy wasn’t

Very different testing compared to what we have, ours was done through the Hospital due to age and she just had to say what the pictures were if she could see them I.e fish, train, car

@Siobhan hi! Can I ask what they said his prescription was please?

@Peer95 he is king sighted and has a slight squint x

@Siobhan I took mine and they said to me +2.00 and +2.50 but she didnt need glasses, just a review in 6 months
