Old friend reached out, what should I respond?

Old friend who let's say we used to be close reached out and texted "Just wanted to stop by and say hi and hope you guys are doing well." I want to be grown but petty as well. She was a friend who always only reached out when she needed something and then made up excuses about why she couldn't hang out, yet always posted pics with other friends. Last time we spoke was about 6/7 months ago. Idk if it helps but I'm the only friend of hers with a kid and she doesn't have either. Help me with a response or maybe no response?

It depends on how you feel. If you would like the friendship to continue, then you could reply, "Hi, we're all well, thanks. I hope you are too?" - then the continuation of the conversation is up to her, and if it seems she's after something, then just cut it off for good. If you don't want that friendship, then don't reply. You don't owe them anything 😌

@Laura I agree with this comment :)

I would say “hey, yes! It’s been a while. we’re good thanks. Hope you are too. Take care x I always feel like “take care” is the less rude way of closing any sort of conversation 😂
