Looking for a gynaecologist

Hi everyone, Im looking for a gynaecologist in Perth (preference is close to the cbd) but dont know how it works. Do I need a GP referral for that? Or I can just book one? Any proposal who to have an appointment with? Nothing special, just for a general check. Thanks!

Thank you. I have visited a GP who didnt want to give me a referral for a general check. Is that normal? Or you have to be "dying" to get a referral?

Well yeah it’s not cheap, my gyno is $180/30min follow up appointment. My general health checks have always been with my gp & then specifically gyno things then with the specialist.

I've seen a couple prices, so Im aware of the cost. Just surprised that it depends on the gp if you can have a specialist appointment.

Oh you definitely can have one, they may just be mindful of cost & wait times to get an appointment; if you can find a decent gp for your annuals that would be way faster.
