can I bring my baby outside with us during campfire?

We just redid our backyard and want to do a family cookout, and I’m not sure if I should be concerned about my baby being outside with us? I’ll make sure she isn’t in the line of campfire smoke, but should I be concerned or take any precautions? We’ll be grilling meats and s’mores.. no other smoke such as cigarettes etc. is this okay?

I’d say so my daughter has always loved the campfire

Not only is it okay, it's good for them! Just take the precautions like you said.

I personally would not! Their lungs are so little I would be so careful around any sort of smoke, especially when it’s something super smoky like a bonfire x

Age of baby? I personally would not. Every single time I’ve been at or around a campfire my clothes and hair reek of smoke. I love the smell but it can’t be good for little baby lungs to be breathing that in. Unless you plan on sticking on the way other side of the backyard from the fire the whole time…

Every time there's a BBQ at my house we grill stuff so I mean you could have baby there in a seat or in a carrier or even a pack and play just make sure you have bug spray repellent so baby won't have bites from bugs

Also make sure baby is not in anyway of the smoke

I am sure she will be okay, just bring a scarf to hide her in in case the smoke gets too wild either wind or a little tent she can go in away from the bugs and smoke? But she should be good your mom you know best 🩵

I personally wouldn’t. You’re not even supposed to light a candle for the first 12 months as smoke inhalation increases the risk of Sid’s.
