Fell down a hill at 28 w pregnant

I went camping this weekend and fell down a hill probably 3 feet and landed on my butt and hands. Side note I have already called my on call nurse and they just want me to monitor at home. But I am in so much hip and low back pain does anyone have any recommendations on how to help?

They shouldn't just have you monitor at home because that fall could of don't something more I do recommend going to your doctor asap I fell off a 6ft ladder and landed on my butt I didn't go to the hospital at first then I started spotting it's always best to get you and baby checked out

Thank you! Yeah I am okay trying not to freak myself out lol. But just super sore feeling moving really slow lol. Luckily I haven’t had any spotting or leaking so i’m just keeping an eye out

Ugh I’m so sorry! That’s scary and obviously not fun! Not trying to freak you out but I’m surprised the nurse advised against going in. Typically they will want to monitor you in L&D for a few hours just to be sure after any kind of fall (stomach, butt, anything). There’s a risk of placental abruption. For the pain I would see if you have a prenatal chiropractor you can call on, you may have your low back and pelvis all out of whack and they can do wonders to realign and alleviate the pain.

L&D nurse here … if you had said you fell on your belly, they’d have you come in for a kleinhaur-betke test … to check if yours and baby’s blood accidentally mixed up inside, something that doesn’t have good effects for baby... we usually do this if the patient comes in from a car accident, or anything that’s struck the belly.

As for the soreness in your hip and lower back, wouldn’t be signs of the blood mixing up between you and baby but definitely discomfort. Just remember Motrin isn’t good for pain-reliever if you’re considering meds.

Get an ultrasound just to be on safe side.
