Caffeine and soft drinks

How much soft drinks is too much? I've had tea only on occasion, but I suffered like crazy with morning sickness. I'm prone to fatigue, so every day I crave lucozade energy (the red or orange ones). I'm just worried I'll overdo it if there's caffeine in them.

i drank energy drinks more towards the end literally because i craved them, the cheap corner shop ones. my baby came out just fine. i did drink fizzy drinks the whole time i was pregnant too and coffee 🤷‍♀️

For caffeine the recommendation is less than 200mg of caffeine a day

Lucozade is fine as it's a glucose drink, fizzy drinks seem to be the only thing that stops making me feel sick.. also fine to drink, recommend caffeine is 200mg but I've been told that going over it isn't a huge risk as long as it's not an everyday thing

agreed! I had Lucozade maybe once every 2-3 days in my first trimester as I’ve suffered with hyperemesis through my whole pregnancy and it helped so much. My midwife said that it’s fine.

I’m 29 weeks now and I have 1-2 soft drinks maybe every second - third day my whole pregnancy and it’s been fine. If you’re really worried have a chat to your midwife but for the most part recommendations about caffeine are generally to stay on the super safe side.

My Dr told me one cup of coffee or soda a day. I've been struggling with this
