Single parent pregnancy.

Hi ladies is there anyone who worked and lived (rent) by themselves and survived financially afterwards. I currently work full time between 2 casual jobs. I hope to get the paid parental leave from the government for the 5 months post birth. How did everyone else manage? Was the money enough? How did you transition back to work?

Hi, im in the same situation as you but i havent worked out yet how to manage all of it post birth since im due with my first baby this Sept. Hopefully i can manage well too working full time when i come back from maternity leave in 6 months' time with baby in day care and managing all the finances and baby expenses.

@Laine thank you for replying I'm pretty confident I can do it but I'm just worried i won't be able to afford rent etc. Also I live in a one bedroom.. if I shift into another rental where I pay more than 350 or 400 a week. I might not survive

My advice will be to start saving now before your baby comes out. That's what im doing currently. I've been picking up extra shifts to save money for the future. That way you have money saved that you can use for baby expenses and to pay for rent since the government doesnt give you much during your maternity leave and when your baby comes you'll probably need to move to a bigger space as needed.
