hyper aware of not hurting baby?

Have a 5 week old here, I accidentally nipped him with a nail clipper a few days ago and today during my husbands softball game a fly ball ⚾️ almost landed on my baby and I while I was feeding him on the sideline area thankfully it didn’t . These two incidents, plus just the thought of the stairs in our home or maybe bumping his head by accident make me so paranoid about him getting hurt, I would never forgive myself if something bad happened to him. Anyone else hyper aware of baby like this? I am a first time mom so maybe that’s why?

Definitely been going through this. I even make up scenarios in my head of him possibly getting hurt (falling down the stairs with him) and get super anxious about it. I just assumed it’s postpartum anxiety and pray about it.

Im a mom of a 15 yr old & a newborn... so its all new to me again.. i accidentally cut my baby girls finger while cutting her nails the first time... it gets easier with practice...They say do it when the baby is asleep... i find that hard.. i do it when she lets me..lol..

Take your time doing things..don't rush on steps.. just take your time and enjoy the newborn stage!

Same chica, I playout horrible scenarios of him flying down the stairs with me or me dropping him by accident. Thank you for the suggestion of praying about it 🙏🏼

It’s bound to happen I know as a mom that it’s scary to watch your kid get hurt especially under you watch or by yourself but it’s going to happen to matter what and creating an anxiety and paranoia over it is to help anything and just going to make you a “helicopter parent” which isn’t going to help the kid grow and learn (when it comes thst time) and it isn’t going to help you mentally babies are a lot stronger thst most think can’t put yourself in that mentality of course be cautious but not overly cautious because it will happen
