My baby is 2 months old and I feed him 5 oz, how do I know when to give him more than 5?

is he breast fed or formula fed. if he’s breastfed, you likely won’t need to up the oz he eats unless he continues to act hungry after eating. if he’s formal fed, i think there’s a standard for the amount they’re suppose to eat depending on age/weight? idk about that tho.

my doctor always tells me to offer 1/2oz more than she normally takes. she’s consistently taking 4.5 right now so i’m offering 5, when she starts taking all 5 i’ll offer 5.5oz

When baby starts finishing the bottles but you think they would’ve kept eating. If there was more to offer like mentioned above I would offer a half ounce more than what they take consistently and if they are continuing to finish every single bottle you can offer more.

And listen for cry cues after they finish that they’re still hungry. Or like I say disappointed the bottle ended so quick. I’m on 5 ounces now but last night he slept from 1am till 6 so five ounces didn’t cut it I ended up making him 1 more ounce

sometimes spit up is normal but also try burping every 2 oz or a different nipple. Mines was throwing up after each bottle alottt. Pediatrician was like that’s normal he is just eating to fast and taking in to much air so slow him down. I also sit him up after he eats so he has time to digest.

this is smart! And helpful

Thank you ladies!!
