5 month old always fussing ! Not sleeping through night

I'm seriously fed up. I know babies go through things and they can't communicate which isn't their fault but I'm struggling with this.

My 5 month old isn't sleeping throughout the night which I thought he would be by now. I have a 2 year old who wakes up 6am every morning so the fact that he keeps me up aswell... I'm constantly tired and moody. I can't be a fun happy mum when I'm like this.

I usually bath him around 7/ 7.30.... and put him down at 8pm. His last feed before bed is about 180ml (6 ounces).
He sleeps fine... and then at around 10pm he starts fussing. I try to feed him a bottle incase he is hungry.. he refuses it. So I rock him... put him back down and he will continue to cry.
I repeat this over and over and nothing works. I change his nappy aswell.

I just can't figure him out.

He will eventually fall back asleep and then wake me up 2am crying again.

Then again at 4am.

Just fussing but not hungry. .

Am I doing something wrong ?
Is he going bed too early or too late ?

I don't know what to do anymore... I need sleep in order to be active for my 2 year old during the day. I have no energy or happiness at this point.

Probably the 4th month sleep regression. There will be more along the way, so all you can do is ride them out unfortunately.

Mine is the same, right now, 5 months in a week and she's thrashing about every hour from 11pm, she's in the nect to me and I've become such a light sleeper everything she does wakes me. Spent this mornings 6am feed crying because I'm lacking in so much sleep now, she has a cold which has made it worse too. If I bring her in the bed she's more settled but the next to me mattress is quite thick so I'm surprised she actually knows the difference. Does anyone know how long this lasts?

@Bronte totally with you mama ! Praying it gets better for you ♥️

This was happening to me too.. I had to put him in his own room so that he sleeps better and I sleep better. But it's the last couple nights where he is getting up and driving me nuts lol

It could last few months unfortunately x

The 4th month sleep regression can be early or late and can last up to 8 weeks.

8 weeks ?!.😅😅😓

That's insane

Yeh mine lasted full 8 weeks. Very lucky people don't go through that but i have seen majority of babies get affected by the 4th month sleep regression.
