No caps on colostrum syringes

I was given a pack of colostrum syringes at my midwife appointment, it had some syringes in a zip lock bag with some labels to write the date etc on. However the syringes don’t have caps, is that a problem? I presume they would provide caps if they were essential but it feels odd not to have caps 🤔

Mine gave me 3 with caps 3 without 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve used them all they are in the freezer and I’ve bought more off Amazon with caps. I hope they’re all ok to use too 😬 xx

Mine don't have caps either but it stays in there no problem. Xx

Apparently some trusts have stopped giving them with caps as they’re a choking hazard x

Thanks ladies! Fingers crossed it doesn’t matter then that they don’t have caps on! I’m just keeping them all inside a clean sandwich zip bag in the freezer so hopefully that’s ok x

My syringes all came in little sealed individual plastic pouches my midwife said just to put it back in that and then into the freezer bag and it would be fine

My midwife swapped to no caps recently. I much prefer the cap ones to protect from freezer burn/contamination. Still have tons of stericare syringes from my first as I bought a box of 100 😂
