I keep accidentally hitting my 2 months old soft spot

My baby is super long and when I hold him upright sometimes moves his head so quickly and my chin hits his soft spot and then it kind of caves in and I get so so worried. This has happened a few times, I try to look all the way up now when carrying him but I can’t help but keep thinking about what if it has caused damage to his brain. He seems fine and doesn’t cry but when I feel his head sometimes I can tell there is a dip in his soft spot. Is this normal? Has this happened to anyone else?

The dip is always there, especially since it pulses. If it's deeper than normal, definitely take him in. But as always, call your pediatrician to ease your mind.

The soft spot also becomes more noticeable when crying

your babe has two soft spots: one on the back of the head and one on the top. the bones of the skull are not fused together in an infant, allowing babes head to be flexible enough for childbirth.

aa of course! just be gentle, they truly are soft spots. it just feels like the skull is dipped a little!
