My LO had her 8-week vaccinations almost two weeks ago. The nurse said she may have some diarrhea for a couple of days. Her bowel movement has been pretty okay although perhaps poos are a bit more liquid than usual (sorry for the info!).
However since her vaccines she spends the whole night grunting and in so much pain trying to pass wind and poo. When she manages to get something out it’s so much! Almost like an adult. During the day she’s better I guess because she’s upright more but there’s a huge difference in her bowel movements and wind since she had the vaccine.
Has anyone had something similar after the rotavirus vaccine? How long did it last? I’m going to focus on eating more probiotic rich food to pass it through to her from my breastmilk (she’s exclusively breastfeeding) to see if that will help improve her gut flora. Please let me know if you have any other tips or suggestions! She’s so uncomfortable I’m willing to try anything

Hi mama, my bub had an upset stomach for two weeks after the rotavirus vaccine too and she is also exclusively breastfed. For the first few days after she actually had green, runny, very frequent poops and then about 1.5 weeks after that she had brown diarrhoea, like it would projectile out of her butt when changing her nappy… I can’t really give you any advice I’m sorry, except it did get better after two weeks, we just rode it out, so fingers crossed you’re nearly through it as well and she’ll be feeling better soon. If it’s any consolation, my baby did not have any of these effects after getting it again during her 4 month vaccines.
