NIPT or EFTS?

My insurance does not cover the cost for NIPT and I got EFTS done and results didn’t indicate any problems. Some people in my company say NIPT is accurate and better to get it done. Can you share what your experiences and results are?

I did the EFTS and it showed a 1 in 400 chance of trisomy 21. I wanted to know more so I paid for the NIPT and got a much lower probability. If I had low risk through the EFTS I wouldn't have gotten the NIPT

Same with me. I was at high risk for trisomy 21 on EFTS. So I did NIPT and it came back low risk. I wouldn’t have done NIPT if EFTS was low risk. My baby is now 4 months and is completely fine.

My results showed 1 in 400 so the doctor advised me to do it if i can afford it. Everything came back fine.

My doctor didn’t tell me the score, just told me report looks good and there’s no cause of concern.

Your doctor doesn't seem to have a concern, but you can always ask for thev score. If you need peace of mind and can afford just pay for NIPT.
