Ottie as a full name?

I’ve always loved Ottilie but my partner just doesn’t, now expecting my second girl and we’re struggling for a name but he has said he’d consider Ottie as her name. Can this be a full name or is it too nicknamey?

Love it!!

I like it 😃 go for it

It sounds like a nickname tbh but who cares as long as you guys like it x

sure, Ottie sounds nicknamey - but that doesn't mean it can't be used as a full name if it's a name you both love! it's pretty normal now for kids to be named "nickname" style names as their full first name - Alfie, Elsie, Teddy, Lottie etc - it's not like the days when people would automatically assume a nicknamey name is short for a longer name, if that makes sense. Ottie is cute, and it works as a full name - if it's the name you love, go with it! 💕

I like nicknamey names as proper names and think you could use it but it’s such a different vibe to Ottilie I’m not sure. How about Lottie (could be on its own or short for Charlotte/ Carlotta)?

I think it’s super cute but I’d be worried people will still read it as Ottile. I had a school friend who had an very unusual name that was only one letter off a more common name and found it very frustrating because he was constantly correcting people.

Ottie is super cute! Many people have nicknamey full names nowadays, I would go for it if you love it 💗

Ottie is lovely as a stand-alone name. Or you could have Ocie xx

Elliott or Ottilia with the nickname Ottie, people use Dottie and Scottie for girls first names why not Ottie
