My son started this right before his molars broke through. I think the pressure makes them feel better. Once they broke through he started to suck on his lips more for comfort instead of grinding
My son also touches his ears for self soothing. The pediatrician said it’s a common tic toddlers have
@Tyler thank you for the response. He did put his finger once or twice in his ear. Got his ears checked today, no infection.
i see, thank you for responding @Ashley !
My son has been doing it on and off for many months. He went into the dentist today at 14 months and she said it’s normal and they’ll deal with it more when he’s 2-3. They can’t even get into his mouth right now lol he also has all but the last molars
My baby did that a few weeks ago. I think she just discovered it and was playing with the feeling and sound. I asked her pediatrician and he said it was normal and it will pass. And there’s not much we can do about it. Sure enough, it passed in a couple of weeks!
Hey momma! My son started doing the same thing at the dame age! It only last about 2 weeks. They're just learning new sounds, feelings, etc. When my boy is tired he will dig his finger in his ear. But if your boy is constantly doing it I would consider getting him checked for an ear infection! Hope this helped a little! Have a blessed day!💙
