Just need a rant

Ladies I just need to rant. My little boy is 8 months old. When he was 3 weeks he started being sick. I mentioned it to my heath advisor and she didn't seem that bothered or worried. I ended up going to my GP who again wasn't that bothered. This continued for some time. He has not been on a centile since 3 weeks old but was slowly gaining weight. I have always expressed my concern about his weight but all the heath advisors that I have spoken to were like he's gaining weight just slowly and just didn't seem to care. However every now and then they would give little jabby comments and make me feel shit. Around the 15th March he began being very sick not keeping any milk down. I mslessaged my heath advisor and she never got back to me. In the end I took him to my GP on 20th March and was prescribed gaviscon and it was put down to reflux. After a week it was no better and he had lost weight. I went back to my GP on the 27th March and saw the same Dr who was very concerned (finally) and she sent us straight to hospital. I was in my local hospital for 7 hours and he couldn't even keep dyoralyte down but they sent him away saying it was just reflux even though he had lost nearly 1kg in weight over 1 week. Over the Easter weekend he was no better and we were away at inlaws. I ended up ringing 111 back up and long story short ended up back in A&E in Shrewsbury (no where near home). This time the concern was real and he ended up being admitted to hospital in Telford from Saturday to Wednesday and then transfered to a hospital closer to home. They still don't know what is wrong with him but he is finally gaining weight and has stopped being sick. It has been the worst 4 weeks of my life and I am honestly shocked, disappointed and honestly fuming at the way it was handled in the first place. My health advisors have been no help and I will not be turning to them for advice again. I am honestly glad that someone finally took my sons health seriously and hopefully we are on the back end of this horrible ordeal. Sorry for the upload but I just really needed to rant.

Bless your heart that's awful. My sister had a similar journey and it ended up being cows milk allergy but it didn't go on for anywhere near as long as this. Your poor little boy!! Bless him. You should be so proud of yourself for sticking at it and for keeping speaking up for him. Fingers crossed you find some more helpful people along the way!! Getting people to take you seriously shouldn't be so hard!

This happened to my son when he was a newborn. He had a condition called Pyloric Stenosis. He had to have surgery.

@KB there is history of this in my family but my LO doesn't have that. He's had scans and all sorts. I'm gald your LO got sorted x

I'm sorry about what you are going through! I don't get the point of health visitors, they are such a useless service...
