What does your baby sleep in?

Having a panic moment about whether im putting too many layers on my 11 month old when she goes to sleep. I put her in a vest/t shirt and pyjamas and 2.5 tog. Her room is usually at 20-21 degrees. Is that too many layers? What do your little ones sleep in 😬😬

Sounds fine! My little boy is in a short sleeved vest, sleepsuit & long sleeved 2 toy sleepbag x

Phew. She seems fine but I just wonder whether she gets hot in the night like we do. I guess they can temp control better now at their age. Thanks for your response xx

Just a vest and sleepsuit for that temp for my LO, he has a blanket but never has it actually on him for warmth😂😅

I think it’s also very much to do with your baby? My baby runs quite hot - his room is 20 degrees and he is in a long sleeved vest and a 2.5 tog. But, for example, at nursery other children are in jumpers and socks, and he is just in his vest with bare feet, else he gets grizzly from being warm.

Btw what does she wear for naps? I find that’s a good way to tell. Try a nap in just the vest and the 2.5 tog and when she wakes up, feel if her legs and back of her neck are nice and warm. If they are, perhaps she doesn’t need the PJ trousers?

Yea that’s a good idea. She wears the same thing for naps. I’m just thinking turning down the heating tonight and seeing how she is in the morning. I genuinely think this is just a random thought that I’ve fixated on which is probably isn’t an issue for her but I just panicked and wondered what other mums were doing to help reassure myself. I think you’re right though - will definitely depend on the child so will do that test and see how she goes

@Anna I can relate. Sometimes I just fixate on something. Like I started worrying that my LO was farting more than other babies, and polling my friends to see if he is more gassy 😭

Room between 18-20 degrees and a sleepsuit, 2.5 tog sleeping bag, no vest. That suits my LG but every baby is different!

Hahah brilliant. Being a mum is a minefield. No shortage of things to worry about 🙈

Room is 18 degrees (feels way colder) she is in a long sleeve vest, sleepsuit and a 3.5 tog sleep bag. She feels the cold easy though and I know this suits my baby (no risk of overheating) xx

My LO wears the same as yours @Anna. I feel like the strict safe sleeping advice was more important in the newborn days. Although having said that, my LO was always too cold, I remember during a heatwave I had to put a sleepsuit on her as opposed to just a vest because she was too cold to sleep. Just go with whatever suits your baby I'd say.

My girl is in short sleeved vest, jumper and trousers jammie set. We've recently introduced a duvet as UK sleepbag sizes are too small and I cannot afford to ship over sizes from AUS

We have my LO in a sleepsuit and a 1.5 tog.

That sounds about right our little one wears pyjamas and a 2.5 tog sleeping bag unless it's really cold at night then he also wears a vest. He doesn't like being too warm and in the summer I think he will just wear a vest and his sleeping bag but I don't want him to be cold

Our girl just wears a sleepsuit and 2.5 tog for a 18-19 degree bedroom. No vest. If it dropped below 18 I'd put a vest on. If it went over 20 I'd probably just have her in a long sleeve vest and sleeping bag
