Returning a gift

I was gifted some baby clothes that unfortunately aren’t my taste. They have tags on but I don’t have any receipts, do you think I can still return them to exchange for something else? It’s from mamas and papas

I was able to return to Sainsbury without a receipts to exchange for bigger size as was also a gift but too small for bub :)

Yeah they usually let you exchange in store

Depends on the shop’s policy. I tried this in M&S and they said the item was purchased too long ago

@Magdalena You were lucky Sainsburys usually don't allow it

If you use Vinted you could sell them, you won’t get as much for them but better than nothing if the store won’t accept x

I returned loads of stuff which didn’t even have tags let alone receipts, shops are pretty good at helping especially when they can clearly seen not been worn x

I’ve exchanged in Next with no issues at all!

Yes I have changed clothes and shoes that I didn’t like for my son to something I liked

Use vinted, facebook or eBay. I don’t recommend taking them back to the store because I consider them second hand already, regardless of whether you have used them or not.

Asda let me exchange with no receipt

You can all but ask

We exchanged something in m&s without a receipt, they were fine about it but it was a current line (we just wanted a bigger size)
