Am I testing too early??

So it’s my second month of ttc (very early I know). I’m 4 days late on my period, I ovulated on 7/4 (3 weeks ago) and had sex on that date. I had spotting on Wednesday and thought it could be implantation bleeding! But I’ve still not tested positive. Admittedly I’ve done the tests at night, because I buy them on my way home from work and can’t wait until the next morning 😂 but surely that doesn’t make a difference if I’m supposedly 4 days late? I’ve always had long cycles and my cycle was 39 days last month. I did also have sex on 14/4 (2 weeks ago) and don’t know if maybe I ovulated around then instead and I’m now testing too early? I just don’t get why it’s not positive 😫

Hi! You can try another test when you reach 15 days, that date is more truthful that 4 days late hehe

Were you ovulation testing so you're sure when you ovulated? Depends when you implanted etc, it can make a difference in the early days if you don't test with fmu. Get 2 tests so you can save one for the morning. Or order some cheap easy@home ones from Amazon so you don't have to keep buying them and can just test in the mornings.

I’m in a similar situation, my flo app said I ovulated on 7th, did the deed on 13th as we aren’t actively trying rn. My last cycle lasted 33 days. I’m currently 2 days late. Unsure if I ovulated later than what the app predicted. Did a test today came out negative, but still no sign of my period. Will test again as I drank a lot of water before taking the test.

@Tanya I don’t ovulate test as I could never get it right, it never worked for me! I use the flow app and keep an eye on discharge and other symptoms. I’ll do that for the tests though thank you! I just need the will power to wait 😂

@Nikita Pankhania yep very similar! You’re right thought the water could really dilute. Sometimes I think the stress of wondering if I’m pregnant can delay my period. I’ve had it before where I’m late on my period, I take a test and it’s negative, so I relax because I think “I know the results now” and then boom period next day! I’m starting to wonder if that’s what happens this month….

Are your cycles always as long as 39 days, or longer?

@Rebecca they can be anywhere between 32 and 37 days, 39 was particularly long x
