LO won't let me clean his teeth

Every time is a nightmare. I've tried different brushes, different ways of doing it (in front of the mirror, on my lap, letting him hold the brush, etc). I let him watch me brushing and hold my brush, but whenever it comes to doing his, he throws a fit and fights away from me. Other than pinning him dowm (which I deffo DO NOT want to do!) - I'm at a loss. He has two bottom and two top. Help?!?!

Have you tried a finger toothbrush? X

@Natallie - Yes, I had some success with this, but my sister is a dental nurse and advised it was OK with 2 teeth, but with more, I needed to start proper brushing x

I let my LG hold and play with the toothbrush so she forms a positive connection with it in her playroom. Then when they’re ok with it, put a little toothpaste on it and let them brush them and then you can get involved after that! Hope that helps!

I was in the same boat as you tbh. It was nightmare - I bought dental wipes to at least wipe them a bit. Then I had to resort to making absolute clown of myself and she somehow let me put finger brush in her mouth while I’m enthusiastically shouting how great teeth brushing is. Bought this toothpaste that tastes like Calpol and for now I manage to do do it for good 15 seconds.

I’m not at this stage yet as my son is still toothless but my son LOVES my electric toothbrush. Everywhere says best wait until 3 for electric toothbrushes but don’t actually say why. I asked my private hygienist and all she said was that the vibrations may be too powerful for him, except my son LOVES it, in which case she said that it might not be a issue then 🤷🏽‍♀️

My LO will only let me brush his teeth while he’s sitting in the bath. Every other way he fights it and screams

@Beth ah I didn’t know this, my LO has just cut her first tooth so will bear in mind xx
