help with a response to a text please
so i need your guys help with a response to a message from an old friend. so ive not spoke to this boy since i was in high school which was in 2021, he’s recently found out he’s going to be a dad! and he’s just messaged me offering to babysit for me when my baby is here(with his girlfriend who i don’t even know) i’m obviously not comfortable with this idea, i wouldn’t even let people in my current friend group babysit and only a select few people will be allowed to babysit my baby(call me overprotective i’m just a nervous gal)
what do you guys think i should say? i don’t want to sound rude by just saying no you can’t sorry

@Tanya it's understandable if it's something you and your partner are comfortable with may invite them to meet the baby that way your there and in full control
Honestly, if you've not spoken to this boy for 3 years, I'd just ignore the message or just go back with "no thanks, I have all the support I need"
I would ignore it too if not spoken for that long, bit of a strange thing to ask someone when you don't know each other anymore.
Maybe just say something like you appreciate the offer but you don't really think you will be needing a babysitter for a while you will be making the most if time with your baby/family together xx
