Blood Test Results

Hello! Just wondering how long it normally takes to get the down syndrome, Edward’s and Patau’s syndrome blood test results? I had my bloods taken nearly 3 weeks ago at my 12 week scan and it still says not published on my Badger Notes. Just wondered if this was normal or not? Thanks for any help! Xx

Had mines 16 weeks ago and it’s not updated. I just phoned the midwife to ask xx

I was confused by this as I thought they’d phone to tell you the results but I didn’t hear anything so ended up asking at my next appointment but you could phone them

The badger app is terrible for that, it often didn't pick up results my midwife put in(even when I saw her do it). For that one though I think they only get in touch if there's any positives, no news means it didn't pick up anything

@Kimberley Benton did your midwife told you the results? I had my test done more than 10 days ago and still no results. I am freeking out a bit, thinking of paying the NIPT but is like £300 private 😩😅

@Stella Yeah. Just call them and they will let you know. It doesn’t have to be your midwife. You can speak to any community midwife xx

I got a call with the all-clear results after 8 days. When the person on the phone said they were a doctor I was terrified that it would be bad news, but it was all clear, just to say to take aspirin because of my low PAPP-A level. My little girl was fine and is 15 weeks now.

From what I remember, the midwife discusses it with you at your 16-week appointment, and they contact you before then if the risk is high. I think it's a case of no news is good news.

Ah that makes sense, thanks all!

They lost my results so if you've not heard from it call your midwife. Thankfully my daughter was okay.

I rang them on Friday and they refused to tell me results! Just said they’d discuss with me at next midwife appointment which is mid May. Nothing on my BadgerNotes either, but I’m assuming that means all fine anyway and they’d have contacted me if there was any high risk I’m sure. So odd though! X
