24 Hours long travel - USA to India (9H + 5.5H Layover + 9H)

Hello Mamas I will be traveling from US to India in my 16th week and then back at 21st week. I am first time pregnant 32 yrs old mama, and I am concerned about this long travel. I was fairly happy when my ob/gyn told me travelling is okay, but when I told a few friends about it , they let me know about few stories where mamas had miscarriages after such a long travel, when they were already like 20+ weeks. I am concerned hearing this, and these friends are actually my well-wishers, so I don't think they are trying to scare me. I have not been able to eat healthy diet because of nausea in first trimester, and now throat mucus in my second trimester, so I am really concerned about baby and his development. Can you share your stories of long travel mamas? I need positive vibes please. 😭

Only took a 5hr and 3hr flight to Cancun. We were advised to hydrate hydrate and stretch the legs during the flight by walking up and down the aisle. Sending positive vibes your way. 🫂

I was about 16/17 weeks traveled to hawaii from dc (about 10-12 hours total including layover time if i remember correctly) and everything went fine. I suggest carrying a personal fan if you get hot flashes like i did and plenty of snacks and to make sure to pace yourself with everything as it will be a long day. Make sure to get plenty of rest before and to stay hudrated. If your dr cleared you, you should be fine 🤗

Get compression socks, stay hydrated and don't stay just seated during the flight. Rest and then walk back anD forth

I traveled to Argentina and Chile when I was 12 weeks. The longest stretch of flying was 9 hrs but we had many more hours of travel. As long as you walk around every 2 hours on the plane, drink lots of water and eat snacks throughout, you will be fine.

Hello! I took a 13hour flight from LAX to Barcelona (Spain) then had a 4hour layover and another 45minute flight. I was 27 weeks and came back when I was 29 weeks pregnant. I was wearing compression socks and I got up every hour pretty much, kept drinking water and moved around ( going to the bathroom a lot lol). On my way back I threw up. It was sooo long and I was so uncomfortable but other than that I didn’t feel any different from when flying not pregnant. Can you do an overnight layover instead of the 5.5hour? I couldnt really sleep in my flight because I was not comfortable in any position and I had to get up so often. You will be flying with less weeks than I did so maybe it’s not a big deal but I would look into it just in case. 🤗
