Please don’t judge me. My 1 year old has woke it for the 3rd morning and his nappy has had hardly any urine in it.
He has one bottle of milk a day and I am constantly offering him water and encouraging him to drink more. I leave his water bottle on the floor near him at all times.
Yesterday he was a bit more tired in himself, but still alert and quite playful.
However if I was to ring 111 now I am not at home.
We’re at my Auntie’s house for a few days, but coming home today. Am so worried any advice would be appreciated.

As long as there is some urine I wouldn't be too concerned. When you say one year old do you mean just one or?
It was very little this morning. He’s 14 months.

Could try offering foods high in water content too such as cucumber, grapes, jelly to get some more hydration in.
I will do. I haven’t given him jelly yet because of the sugar content. I will give him some grapes.

You can get kids ones from places like Aldi that is basically fruit juice and water :)
Thank you I will have a look.

Do you get plenty of wet nappies during the day? My little girl often wakes up dry in the morning as she doesn’t have milk before bed anymore, but she has plenty of wet nappies during the day so I’m not concerned.
Yeah at least 3. Sometimes he has a few poos so it’s hard to count wet ones if that makes sense. Ah right and he doesn’t have any milk either. I don’t how many they’re meant to have at this age.
it doesn’t help that he sometimes spits the water out a bit.

111 will send you to hospital if dehydrated will need an iv drip. my little girl was poorly with a bug last week and stopped eating and drinking her nappy was dry after 4 hours and they wanted to admit her if she didn’t do a wee because it’s risky if they become dehydrated (not try to scare you just giving you a heads up) try offering hydrating foods like cucumber or watermelon x
aw bless her. I haven’t rang them yet. He’s had a good wet nappy since this morning I changed it an hour ago. He’s very fussy at the moment though. Am trying my best to get more water into him. X

I was told by our nurse practitioner that one wet diaper every 8 hours (so essentially 3 a day) means they are hydrated
What about overnight?

i wouldn’t worry aslong as he’s having wet nappies throughout the day x
okay I feel like he’s been more tired than usual. I had him to the doctors because I was worried he was anaemic, but the nurse said he looked fine.x

She just said within a 24hr period

He could still need hydration or being going through something, I just wanted to share what we were told. My daughter has surgery next week and she won’t be able to drink out of a bottle, so I was a little concerned about her hydration. This is what they told me so that I could have a bit of an idea moving forward.

I do baby feeder of a pedilyte popsicles I cut up and put it in

that’s smart! Great idea

I learned that after my son didn't like drinking pediltye only in popsicles😂
Ave changed his nappy 20 minutes ago and there was hardly any urine in it. His last nappy change was at 1pm.
