MRSA?? Terrible MIL
My Husband’s Sister just had a baby. Which tested positive for MRSA. Did saying anything until after she saw and almost held my baby. She just brought it up. “ I don’t know if I should be around the baby and hold her because sister in law baby tested positive for MRSA, and I was with him today holding him” my first reaction was excuse me and I went and grabbed my daughter and stepped outside of the room, and we left. As we are driving away. I’m crying a emotional mess. Freaking out how can she be so ridiculous and think that was okays she brought it up like oh I lost my car keys. Ma’am this is my daughter and you are not going anywhere o do this!!! Does that make me a terrible person. I was ready to throw some hands, I was so livid.

As someone who worked in wound care for 3 years, while MRSA is always scary it can only be transferred by blood/open wounds/wound drainage😊 but regardless I would be pretty pissed too because our babies have such little immune systems. You are not a terrible person at all for protecting your baby. Same concept as wanting people to have their vaccines up to date if they hold baby! I hope I was able to provide you some relief with info about MRSA transmission 💕
that helps a lot I was freaking out and pissed Told my husband we weren’t going around his mom for a bit until she stops going to the hospital. I just don’t want her to catch anything while there and bringing it to her. Do you have any recommendations like should I call her doctor or something? I’m sorry still freaking out
