NEED HELP !

Hey All
I am 23 and going to be a first mom. I need to book my appointment but I want a gynecologist, not my existing GP. Any recommendations, please? Is it possible to book a gynecologist directly? Or I will need to reference from my GP? Please help. I live in Queanbeyan ( Canberra gynaecologist is also ok for me )

Hello Emma, congratulations on your pregnancy ❤️. I was the same and I wanted to have gynae instead of GP. I am in my 19th week at the moment and had my meeting with the midwife already as my GP referred me to the hospital(they refer you to hospital in the end of first trimester).
During my meeting with the midwife, I mentioned that I would like to see Gynae, and she told me that Doctors only see you if you have any complications in your pregnancy. If it's healthy then you will be seen by midwives not doctors. And that day I just hope not to see any doctor.
Just trust your GP. I believe every GP is different but they all are aware of pregnancy related process/any symptoms or complications. If your GP finds out any complications then she will def refer you to gynae.

U can get an OB privately u need to call their practice up and see if they’re avail. Some have a waitlist or not taking any new patients so u’ll have to suss them out. I heard Dr Ken Tan is good
