Is it weird that I want Braxton Hicks?

lol this feels like a silly question. But the closer I get to baby coming I’m starting to kind of get scared that i don’t know what I’m in for. I’m currently 30 weeks and have been very fortunate to have a relatively “easy” pregnancy. Other than getting GD, I haven’t had any other common symptoms. No nausea, boobs never hurt, I sleep fine, don’t have to constantly pee. I’m afraid labor and delivery will be such a shock to me. I haven’t experienced Braxton hicks and don’t even know if everyone gets them or not, but I kind of want to so I see how I handle this sudden new pain/discomfort. Do I sound ridiculous lol

No, you don't sound ridiculous at all. When I realized I was at the stage to get them too, I wanted them to remember what it felt like. Then it happened the next day while I was driving, and I was like, "Oh yupp! I remember now!" I get one maybe every other day or so. 30 weeks today!

Did you ever get period cramps? Braxton Hicks/early labor contractions are reminiscent of period cramps. Late labor pain is like cramps x10. If you’re active (and in your exercise you often push through your pain), your pain tolerance is likely to be higher

Also, the pain levels of labor ramp up the further you go, so it’s not usually going from 0 to 10 in seconds, it’s more likely to be 0 to 1 to 2 to 4 to 5 to 7 to 10

I did get period cramps but not really too bad. Sometimes on my first day id use a heating pad. I have a low pain tolerance that’s why I’m scared haha I’ve had gallbladder surgery before and that recovery is prob the most pain I’ve experienced. Never broken a bone or anything.

Braxton Hicks for me aren't painful just weird. It literally just feels like a tightening ball on part of my stomach and in my first pregnancy for the longest time I just thought the baby turned or balled up weird.
Regular contractions are different and are your entire uterus, and for some it is felt strongly in their back as well (not me thankfully). So I wouldn't even call them comparable for me since they were obviously different feeling.
Also, could be a good thing you haven't as when I usually notice more Braxton Hicks it's when I need to drink more water or my body is like "chill out and relax please" lol
