I have gestational diabetes and have been booked in for an induction on my due date. And would love to avoid the full induction with just having the membrane sweep. My consultant has authorised a sweep from 37 weeks but currently cervix is closed.
My first attempt will be 38+2
Would love to hear success stories ! Or how you induced labour naturally before due date x

I had two with my last which did nothing and one a couple of days ago with this one that has also done nothing :( xoxo

Im the same as you have gd booked in for my due date. I had first sweep yesterday 38+2 my cervix was well and truly still closed so I'm booked in for another two before my induction on the 14th. I have been having some slight period pains since even tho it was unsuccessful. So it might of still disturbed it. You can do a few things to induce naturally, there is a pressure point between your thumb and finger so the squishy bit apply pressure in circular motion.
Sex as the sperm naturally starts labour.
Any foods that will irritate your bowels. Something spicy.
Also try hand expressing your breasts that can also start hormones. I got told all these by my midwife. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

I had a sweep at 38+2, 38+4 and then 39 weeks. Sadly, none of them did anything and baby was born via induction at 39+3😢 they did work for my mum though so fingers crossed for you🤞
when did you go in for your induction and how was the progression of the induction

I went in on Sunday and had the prostin gel which dilated me from 1-3cm. Then it was just waiting for my waters to be broken. I was ready on Monday but no room on delivery suite until Wednesday morning and he was here by Wednesday afternoon.
