When to test?

My cycle is always short around 24/25 days. So according to my fit bit my period is due today. However, if I was going off a 28 day cycle it wouldn’t be due till Thursday. When is the earliest I should test? I have no symptoms at all so it’s unlikely but still holding out hope!!
