Does anyone use Kendamil formula? I just switched to it. But they recommend warming up the water first to make the bottle? Does this really make a difference?
(I used to use Enfamil Gentlease & I would prep my babies bottles at night with the water and when she wakes up just add the formula in the bottle so I don’t have to go downstairs half sleep.)
I’d like to continue doing this.

In the UK you have to use boiling water to kill the bacteria in the formula powder. Unsure if that's different in other countries though.. but definitely to be made with boiled water. Or the hot shot method to help make a bottle quicker
I live in the US. I have the nursery water..is that not fine by itself without boiling? There’s bacteria in the formula ?!
Also what’s hot shot method?

Ah ok I'm not sure how it works in the US. In the UK to ensure all bacteria is killed off from the formula we have to use boiling water to mix it first.
The hot shot method uses anout an oz or 2 or boiled water to mix with the formula first then top up to whatever Oz you need with cooled boiled water

Kendamil is also a thicker formula than other brands so just ensure you mix it well so there isn’t lumps and it clogs the teat of the bottle x

Id honestly say as it's a UK formula you'll need to follow UK guidelines for making it up to avoid baby getting sick. There's bacteria in the formula that will need to be sterilised as formula tins are an unsterile environment so doing the hot shot method mentioned above or making up a few bottles and cooling then placing in the fridge to warm up when needed would work

We use kendamil by warming tap water first in bottle warmer, and then adding required number of scoops, mixing and giving go baby. No issues so far. But, we store the main jar of formula separately and once in a few days transfer smaller amount in a smaller container to avoid putting spoon in the bigger jar frequently.
I breastfed her up until almost 8 months, I couldn’t do it anymore. I wanted that machine but I feel like it’s not worth it to purchase it this late when she’s almost 1. I feel like that would make it so much easier lol
idk if I’ve missed this whole bacteria issue with formula before and forgot or what. Now I’ve scared myself with this😟
I do need exercise so maybe I will have to pre make them and then go downstairs to get them lol. Would they need to be warmed up after boiling the water and mixing it or is it just a preference? My baby doesn’t mind cold formula
ooh ok thank you!

So the way that method works in the UK is you boil a litre of water cool it for no more than 30 mins in the kettle and then mix up as many individual bottles as required put them under cold running water to rapidly cool them then pop at the back of the fridge for up to 24 hours and when a feed is needed take one out and pop in a bottle warmer until it's the temp baby drinks it at and then after an hour of them starting to drink from it anything left over is thrown away.
Not sure what the conversion for a litre of water is into an American amount but it's 1000ml of water if that helps and it's the standard electric kettles we use here but I lived in America for a few years so know kettles arent the most common things to have in households but I'm sure Amazon would have them

You can also give them cold from the fridge if baby isn't fussy and will drink it fridge cold

That's what I do. I have been doing that method since my baby was 2.5 months old. I nuke the bottle for 20 seconds in the microwave and go from there

Go to bed with a flask of hot water? Maybe? You could still fill the bottles before bed and just top them up with the hot water to make them warm
so last night I just boiled the water and premade them and put in the fridge. Then I just brought them to my room in the small to go cooler I usually take with us.
