Baby showers

I’m having my baby shower a month before I have my little one so I’m having it in June then she will come in July

And I don’t have a lot of friends or family so I’m doing mines together

I’d do it closer to the due date. I had mine last week and have 2 weeks till baby arrives. I’d say a month to 6 weeks before due date is fine. And one big shower with both friends and family, otherwise it’ll be expensive and difficult to do x

I personally had mine 3 months before due date because I wanted to make sure that if I didn’t get everything needed I had enough time to get them.

@Ashley I got myself a car seat, stroller, crib, mattress, diaper bag, and rocker because I’m too anxious. I rather spread it all out than to wait till crunch time

Either at 6 months or 8 months depending on your needs/the time of year you envision for your shower

Don't install the car seat yet! If it's a Graco, wait until you are at least 30 plus weeks

We did two showers: friends ; hubby and I , and four of our friends.... Low key, a few gave gifts, we got lunch out together... And had brownies. Family was the next day, a Sunday ( couldn't do an everyone together shower because hubby's mom conservative.... And is best in doses). The family shower was hosted by hubby's eldest sister at her house ; finger foods, cake, opening of gifts.... And an activity for everyone else ..... Of writing a letter to coming baby in a card, sealing the envelopes, then putting a wax seal and a pretty wax stamp on it.

My friends one was at 36 weeks and 6 days.... My family one was at 37 weeks..... I had my son three days after the family one 😂😂😂😅😅😅😅

I'd suggest a shower or two at 25-30 weeks.... So you aren't super uncomfortable ( I had to have my feet propped up at the family one.... Because they were swelling badly))

So, pick a friend or family member to host... And your significant other and that friend or family member plan the shower, but you can definitely give ideas on things to do and eat at the shower

Definitely recommend not doing it too close to the due date. Mines 2 months beforehand. Because I know people will either ignore my registry or just not buy the things I really need and I’ll need time to buy it myself (have it shipped to my house, assemble it, organize, etc). I’m 25 weeks and was getting the nursery ready a couple days ago and was super out of breath tired. I cannot imagine doing all of that months from now 😓

We didn't do a nursery, and still don't have one ( 10.5 months in) , but definitely don't wait on assembly. We bought the bassinet on a Monday.... Baby arrived wed... The bassinet arrived Thursday 😂😂😂

I had mine about a month and a half before my due date. I sent out invites about a month prior to it but would tell people the date before I made invites if they asked. I did one big one but honestly it may be easier to split it depending how many come so you can socialize with everyone. It was perfect timing for me because you are showing enough for the typical bump pictures and such but not so big that you are miserable. It also gave me time to sort through what I got and get what I needed after and also organize it.
