Reunification of estranged parent

Has anyone ever heard of or done reunification therapy for their children and their estranged parent? My child has been in theraoy due to some things that happened with the father while on visitation, which resulted in visitation being stopped a year ago and DHS investigations opened. We are going back to court and the judge is saying supervised visitation. My childs therapist told me about reunification therapy and said to look into it. The father also has never taken the youngest child for visitation at all and has had very little contact with either child. I have never heard of it and I’m wondering if the judge will even allow that as supervised visitation and if it’s even helpful at all!

I’ve seen some really bad things about reunification therapy - it’s glorified brainwashing. Be really really careful. If you’ve got Instagram follow the account @onemomsbattle

exactly! It’s not connection-based at all and attempts to force a bond that should form naturally https://www.divorcenet.com/resources/reunification-therapy-and-child-custody.html#:~:text=They%20also%20point%20to%20several,conflict%20in%20the%20family%2C%20and

Never heard about it. Ask more your therapist about it, google it, do some research, watch info on YouTube and then decide. Kids can get very traumatised by domestic abuse and tragic/bad events. Take care of your child.
