Our baby is due in July and I’m really unsure what clothing to take in hospital with me for baby as not sure if baby will be too hot/cold … don’t know why but it’s really stressing me out so any advice welcome!

I’m in the same position!! I packed 5 bodysuits in both newborn and 0-3 sizes (better to be over prepared and put them back in the drawer if not used!!) 3 sleep suits in newborn and 3 sleep suits in 0-3 and a cellular blanket just in case!

I would suggest 3 or 4 newborns, up to one month. 0-3 if you know your baby will be on the bigger side. I had my LG in Dec, but she wore 2 sleepsuits and vests and one going home outfit for her whole stay, and we had a section. The hospital will be warm, but remember, they can't wear coats in the car (if cold), so I just wrapped her in a blanket in the car seat xx

I’d also add to ’s list short sleeved vests too. If you pack layers than at least you can remove anything if baby is too warm. Not sure if you know but you can check baby’s temperature by checking their chest or upper back with your fingers. Don’t go by the temperature of their hands and feet. Cold hands and feet doesn’t mean cold baby.
Also it’s probably stressing you out because your mind needs something to focus in on that it can control at a time when things will be out of its control. I hope that makes sense. ❤️

I am planning to start over the bank holiday week end of May. Confused with layers still. They say one extra layer for the babies. Thinking of getting sleeveless vests and sleep suits

I’m just planning on taking newborn vests (short sleeved) and newborn baby grows. Even if it’s really hot outside it won’t really affect the temp in the hospital, and when we are leaving we will just be getting in the car anyway x

Thanks everyone 🥰 So nice hearing all this advice makes me feel less overwhelmed!

Depends on where you live as well! My first was born in june 2022 and over the course of that summer we only really had a week where she wore short sleeved outfits indoors. Mind you I do live in Scotland. Especially in the beginning she would wear short sleeved vests and sleepsuits. I think she wore a cardigan over a sleepsuit on our way home from hospital.

Funny enough Im due the day after my daughter’s birthday 🤣 so ive had a july baby before BUT even though its July just from the last 9 years I’ve noticed its not always as hot as we’d like even though its summer….anyway I recommend bringing a sleep suit and baby vests (just incase it’s randomly cold 🙄) and all in one jacket too
We left the hospital at night with my daughter and it was chilly! Always best to carry something warm just incase!

I had my first 6 weeks early in august 22, right at the start of that second horrendous heatwave we had. Always pack enough for a few days stay just incase, you hopefully won’t need to use it but better safe than sorry. Have a couple of small vests and sleep suits, aswell as hats and mittens! Mittens because of the tiny talons and believe it or not their heads can get cold even if it’s hot. A couple of newborn size everything and a couple of 1-3 month, this is just because baby could end up not fitting newborn exactly. Just vests and sleep suits will be fine if it gets cold the hospital has blankets that are sterilised for the maternity ward 😊
