Transitioning from swaddle

Help! My baby is an amazing napper and sleeper and I put this down to using the tommee tippee swaddle bags. Now that he’s 4.5 months and starting to roll to his side I thought I’d take one arm out of the swaddle to start transitioning but he refuses to sleep unless he’s completely swaddled arms in. What do I do? He just pulls his dummy out and hits himself in the face 😩

I had to start off really slowly, so we did one arm out for 20 minutes the first night, then 30 minutes then after a few nights I just started to wait until she woke herself up before putting her arm back in and it wasn’t long after that until she went the whole night x

@Chelsea Ah okay that’s a good idea! Was she able to self settle with her arm out or did you put her down asleep? xx

She had eventually but to start I would have to hold her arm down until she was asleep

It took a good few weeks for us, we used love to dream swaddle up and I loved them, i started with one arm out for a good week before transitioning to 2. It was an adjustment and he woke a bit more (but he’s been waking all the time for over 2 months due to a sleep regression anyway! 🤪). He generally sleeps well arms out but he does this fun (!!) thing where he takes his dummy out a lot but can’t put it back in which is so frustrating as he needs it to sleep 🥲. Just keep at it, but transition slowly xx

My LO does that with his dummy too 🫠 haha! Thank you both! Xx
